Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is the premier non-profit healthcare provider in Qatar. It was established by Emiri decree in 1979 and reports to the Supreme Council of Health. Since its establishment, HMC has rapidly developed medical facilities capable of providing state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment of diseases that previously could only be managed in overseas medical institutions. HMC currently manages 8 specialized hospitals: Hamad General Hospital, Rumailah Hospital, Womens Hospital, National Center for Cancer Care & Research, Al Khor Hospital, Heart Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital, Cuban Hospital as well as the national ambulance service, home healthcare services and the developing residential services. Facilities under development include Al Wakra Hospital, Childrens Hospital, the new Womens Hospital, a Skilled Nursing Facility and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. We are now recruiting experienced Consultant Critical Care (MICU). The Medical Intensive Care Unit provides multi-disciplinary evidence based critical care to post-operative patients with life threatening conditions or unstable, severely ill patients who require frequent monitoring and potentially require intensive intervention or ventilation. We attend to approx 85 patients per month (the department attends to patients over the age of fourteen years). As a department we work together with other intensive care units and all specialties in Hamad General Hospital and Hamad Medical Corporation for the transfer, admission, discharge, referral, diagnosis and treatment of patients, to ensure the highest possible standards of patient care. We are looking for enthusiastic Critical Care MICU Consultants who are experienced in the following: Chest tube insertions Central line catheters Broncosposy Ideally you will have background within either: Critical Care Anesthesia Intensive Care Trauma Applicants should be flexible and willing to work as part of a growing team. You will work with a team of world class professionals such as other consultants, fellows, specialty nurses and technologists. We expect our consultant to have: Primary medical degree from a recognized medical school Board certification or equivalent for area of your medical specialization five years work background after graduation from primary degree 3 yrs work background as a Consultant or six as a Senior Consultant At HMC we value your skills, requirements and background and there has never been a better time to consider a career with us.
